A '6 millimeter 80 grade lifting chain' is a very common industrial lifting component. The meaning: 1. 6 millimeters refers to the nominal diameter of the chain. This indicates the nominal diameter of the round steel used to manufacture the chain (usually measured as the diameter of the metal rod stock for the chain links). 2. 80 grade refers to the strength grade or material grade of the chain. This means that the material of the chain meets specific mechanical performance standards (usually international standard ISO 3077 or corresponding national standards such as GB/T 20947). '80 grade' means that the minimum breaking load of the chain meets the requirements of that grade. For a 6mm diameter chain, an 80 grade corresponds to a minimum breaking load of 12.5 tons. This grade represents the carrying capacity of the chain. The higher the grade (such as 100 grade), the greater the breaking load of the chain for the same diameter.
