How to clean a hand chain hoist: Cleaning surface dirt: Dry brushing/cloth wiping: Use a dry, clean brush (such as an old toothbrush or wire brush with care) or cloth to remove loose dirt such as dust, soil, sand particles, and metal shavings from components like the chain, sprocket, housing, and hook. Focus on cleaning the gaps in the chain and the grooves of the sprocket. Compressed air: If available, use low-pressure compressed air to blow away dust and debris from hard-to-reach crevices and corners. Be sure to wear goggles. Wet cloth cleaning (use with caution): For stubborn stains (such as oil mud), you can wipe them off with a slightly damp (wrung out until not dripping) clean cloth. Do not wash directly with water or soak! After cleaning, all parts must be thoroughly dried immediately with a dry cloth, especially the chain and internal mechanisms, to prevent rust. Avoid water or cleaning agents from entering the braking mechanism (usually inside the housing).
